travel.at went live in the spring of 2010 and is operated by Vienna-based travelwindow GmbH. travelwindow GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of travelwindow AG in Zurich.

The booking technology comes mainly from the company itself and has already proven itself admirably at its Swiss counterpart travel.ch.

The city trip booking system in particular has made an excellent start and is by far the most popular product from the new Austrian online travel agency.

It combines flights from over 300 airlines with more than 20,000 hotels in real time. Based on an ingenious algorithm the customer is shown an overview of the best combinations. For example, thousands of customer evaluations are also used to sort the offers. 

At the start of 2011 the “citytraveller” brochure (distribution 430,000) was published, which informs readers about the comprehensive range of city breaks.

In Vienna travel.at operates its own travel call centre with trained travel advisors and it is a member of the Austrian Association of Travel Agents as well as a registered tour operator at the Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth.
